How to use the M3U player
Three ways to open a playlist, and the format basics.
Paste your playlist address (from your IPTV service or set-top box) or a direct .m3u8 link, then “Load”.
Choose or drop an .m3u or .m3u8 file from your computer or phone. It is read in the browser, never uploaded.
Paste the playlist content directly. Handy to test a single channel or fix a list.

FAQ
What is an M3U file?
An M3U file (or M3U8 in UTF-8) is a plain-text playlist: each entry holds a channel or track name, sometimes its logo and group, followed by the stream address. It is the format used by most IPTV services, online radios and players such as VLC or Kodi.
What is the difference between M3U and M3U8?
M3U8 is the UTF-8 encoded version (accents and non-Latin scripts). The same .m3u8 extension is also used for HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) video streams: Playflux recognises both and plays an HLS address directly.
Why won’t a channel play?
The most common causes: the stream is offline or the subscription expired; the stream server forbids browser playback (CORS); the stream is “http://” while the page is “https://”; the channel is geo-restricted; or the format (some audio codecs, MKV) is not supported by the browser. In those cases VLC will often play it.
Are my playlists and credentials stored?
No. Files are read in your browser. For an address, the browser loads it directly; when that is not possible, our server fetches it once for you without storing it. Favourites, recent playlists and “My lists” stay in your browser (or your phone with the app): our servers never see them.
How much does Playflux cost?
The player is free. You can save 2 playlists for free in “My lists”. To save more, a one-time payment of 1,99 € unlocks unlimited lists for life, on the website and in the app, with a code sent by email. No subscription.
Does Playflux provide channels?
No. Playflux is only a player: it does not host, provide or recommend any playlist or stream. Use playlists you are legally entitled to: those from your provider, your set-top box, or channels broadcast for free by their owners.
Which formats are supported?
.m3u and .m3u8 playlists (with tvg-logo, tvg-name, group-title), HLS streams (.m3u8), MPEG-TS (.ts), FLV, MP4, WebM, MP3, AAC and Ogg. Shortcuts: N / P next or previous channel, F full screen, M mute, space play/pause.
